Kalispell Public Schools summer meal program starts June 15

Starting Monday, June 15, Kalispell Public Schools food service will serve free summer meals to 14 sites around Kalispell and Evergreen.

Anyone 18 and younger may participate. No registration, proof of income, or identification is required.

The free program will run through Aug. 14. Lunch and breakfast will be served at each site. Menus are available on the district website under the food service department tab at https://www.sd5.k12.mt.us.

The program is operated as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program, which reimburses providers who serve free healthy meals and snacks to youth in low-income areas.

Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the district central kitchen located at 106 Northwest Lane. Meals will also be served during camps held at Woodland Park. In addition to the central kitchen location, district food trucks will visit the following sites at the following times to serve breakfast and lunch:

• Sunset Park off of Three Mile in Sunset Court, 11 a.m.

• Empire Loop off of Three Mile on Empire Loop, 11:20 a.m.

• Northridge Park on Northridge Drive, 11 :40 a.m.

• Lawrence Park, 1105 N. Main St., noon

• Peterson Elementary in the adjacent Meridian Park, 12:20 p.m.

• Washington Park on Washington Street, 12:40 p.m.

• Hawthorne Park on Hawthorne Avenue, 1 p.m.

• Begg Park, 57 Begg Park Drive, 11 a.m.

• Elrod Elementary, 412 Third Ave. W., 11:20 a.m.

• Hedges Elementary, 827 Fourth Ave. E., 11:40 a.m.

• Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse, 155 Shady Lane, Evergreen, 12:05 p.m.

• Evergreen Lions Park, 400 E. Evergreen Dr., 12:25 p.m.

• Evergreen Junior High, 20 W. Evergreen Dr., 12:50 p.m.
