Dorne Marie (Zauft) Diesen, 53

Dorne Marie (Zauft) Diesen passed on June 6, 2020.

She was born on March 20, 1967, in Fort Frances, Ontario, to Richard Dwight and Mary Logene Zauft. Summers spent at the family’s wilderness camp in Canada were some of her favorite times and stories to share. In 1978 her family relocated to Kalispell where she made several lifelong friends. After graduating from Flathead High School in 1985, she discovered her partner in crime and fellow adventurer, Jeff Diesen, in September 1986 (his best birthday present ever!). The couple married on Oct. 9, 1991 and were devoted to each other for 34 years.

Dorne loved late night games with friends and cool cars. She enjoyed a good joke and warm summer nights. She was always up for an adventure, especially with the many furbabies she loved over the years. Many children loved her as “Aunt” Dorne and she cherished each one. Her friends were embraced as family and she was quick to help others.

Dorne was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Dwight Zauft and Mary Logene Zauft, and her brothers Michael Zauft and Gary Zauft.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Diesen; several nieces and nephews; the second light of her life, her goddaughter, Grace; and numerous treasured friends.

Dorne loved all holidays, but her favorite was July Fourth. As such, a celebration of her life will be held on July 4 at the home she built with her life partner.
