Myron Duane Johnson, 87
Myron Duane Johnson, age 87, of Kalispell passed away on April 26, 2020, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Frontier Hospice.
Myron was born in 1933 in North Dakota to Henning and Christine Johnson. He was raised on the family farm with three brothers and one sister. He graduated in 1951. The family then moved to Kalispell in 1952.
Myron served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He met the love of his life, Patricia Vaughn. They were married in 1953 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, raising three children, Randy, Robyn and Teri.
Myron worked at Jet Oil, CFAC and Aluminum Products, which became Aluma Glass. Myron retired at age 80.
Myron and Pat spent many years visiting their son Randy in Arizona. He enjoyed working on his farm, volunteering his time to Meals on Wheels and spending time with his family.
He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and the building committee. He was also a board member of the Immanuel Lutheran Home and served as president for a year.
We were all blessed to have him in our life, and he will be greatly missed.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, of 51 years; their son, Randy; his mother and father; three brothers and a sister.
Myron is survived by his daughters; Robyn (Sean) Ward; Teri (Mike) Wood, all of Kalispell; four grandchildren: Brianne (Riley) Tuyls, Bradyn Ward, Christopher Wood, and Randee Wood; and one great-grandson, Corbin Myron Wood.
At Myron’s request a private graveside memorial service was held.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Frontier Hospice.
