Lisa Welzel, 61

Local ceramic artist Lisa Welzel passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, peacefully in the early morning surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 25, 1958.

She is survived by her husband of over 38 years, Lt. Col. Robert Welzel, USMC (Ret.); their children Jennifer, Michele and John; and their six grandchildren.

She was a talented artist who frequented Carol’s Ceramics and won many awards for her creations, including first place at the Montana State Ceramic Association Show in 2018.

All agree that she was far too young to be taken by leukemia and we will miss her talent, care, love and laughter.

She and her husband created a charity in 2019 to assist veterans in our community, and requested that any gifts be directed towards the Vigilant Warrior Project.
