Armed dad doesn't like hand-washing policy
An angry parent was apparently carrying a firearm and a knife on school property when he dropped his daughter off at school. According to a call to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, the father allegedly used profanity and yelled at staff and parents about the school’s hand-washing policy.
An observant motorist reported some interesting findings on a road in Columbia Falls. He said there seemed to be a large, “fresh” sewage discharge, which might have been deposited by a tour bus or an RV. He also said there was a large white spot that he thought could have come from “some sort of chemical.” An officer who investigated the area didn’t find any of the strange roadway appearances the caller had described.
A dog at large nearly shut down a highway, according to a caller, before it ran out of sight.
The recipient of a dog barking complaint said the complainant was harassing him by calling law enforcement. The dispatcher he spoke to advised him he had the option to plead “not guilty” to the dog barking offense.
A horse owner might have regretted leaving her horses under the care of her sister’s friend while she was out of town. The horse-sitter told authorities the two horses got loose and nearly got hit by cars on U.S. 93 before she finally got a hold of them and walked them back to her pasture.
Construction trucks on Montana 35 were being loaded with some kind of powder that made it nearly impossible to see the roadway. They were advised to get a water truck running at their location.
A man called to complain about a low-flying sea plane that allegedly travels between Whitefish and Olney. He was advised to contact the Federal Aviation Administration about the issue, but he said he had already filed a complaint with them. He refused to give his name or address to the Sheriff’s Office.
