The Board of Commissioners has received a petition in writing by the owners representing 40.42% of the land in the area asking that said area be annexed into the Somers Rural Fire District, thereby altering the boundaries of the Flathead County Fire Service Area by transferring the property as described above into the Somers Rural Fire District. The public hearing will be held on the 8th day of October, 2020 at 9:30 AM in the Commissioners' Chambers, Third Floor, Courthouse, 800 South Main Street, Kalispell, MT. At the public hearing, the Board of Commissioners will give the public an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposed annexation. No. 27305 NOTICE OF SPECIAL DISTRICT ELECTION FLATHEAD HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 5 FLATHEAD COUNTY, MONTANA Notice is hereby given that in Flathead County, on November 3, 2020 a Special District election will be held for the purpose of an increase in local taxes to support the general fund in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) per year which is approximately 7.05 mills for the purpose of operating and maintaining the high school district programs. Passage of this proposal will increase the property taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $.79 per month/$9.52 per year, and on a home with a market value of $200,000 by approximately $1.59 per month/$19.05 per year. The durational limit of the levy is permanent once approved by the voters, assuming the district levies that amount at least once in the next five years. This election will be conducted by Mail Ballot. Ballots will be mailed beginning October 9th and must be received by 8:00 p.m. November 3, 2020.
