A Polson woman died following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on U.S. 93 near Pablo Family Foods.

Darlene Wilder, 18, was driving west at about 9:30 a.m. from Clairmont Road into the intersection with the highway when the driver of a second vehicle heading south on the highway ran a red light and slammed into the side of Wilder’s Acura, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremy Lee.

Lee said Wilder died Sunday.

Leasa Moore, 20, of Kalispell, was driving the second vehicle, an Oldsmobile Alero. She suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries in the crash, Lee said.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities determined that the Oldsmobile had been reported stolen out of Kalispell, and Moore likely faces multiple charges related to the crash, which remains under investigation.

Lee said neither driver was wearing a seat belt, and both initially were taken to St. Luke Community Healthcare in Ronan.

Members of the Ronan Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, along with Montana Highway Patrol and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. A jaws of life crew was called in to help remove Moore from the Oldsmobile, which reportedly came to a rest upside down in front of Mission Valley Power.
