Columbia Falls shuts out Blue Devils

CORVALLIS ­— Mason Peters threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns Friday to lead Columbia Falls over Corvallis 32-0 in a Western A football contest.

Peters completed 21 of 28 passes and two intercepted — while making an interception himself on defense. His touchdowns covered 20, 58 and 29 yards to Cade Morgan, Taylor Bryan and Zane McCallum.

Morgan scored a second touchdown on an interception return.

The Wildcats outgained the Blue Devils 454-118 while improving to 5-2 ahead of a showdown at home against Frenchtown (5-2) this coming Friday.

Morgan had six catches for 143 yards and Bryan had five receptions for 104 for Columbia Falls.

Dillon 34, Libby 14

LIBBY — Dillon quarterback Jace Fitzgerald ran for three scores and threw for another to lead the Beavers (6-1) past Libby (5-2) in a key Western A game.

Libby’s touchdowns came from running back Dawson Young, who had a 1-yard scoring run and an 83-yard kickoff return.

Fitzgerald’s TD pass covered 80 yards to Daxon Graham.

Libby plays host to Hamilton this coming Friday.

Hamilton 54, Whitefish 23

HAMILTON — Carson Rostad had a big day for the unbeaten Broncs (7-0), throwing for 365 yards and four touchdowns.

Three of the TD passes came in the first quarter. Whitefish tried to keep pace behind quarterback Fynn Ridgeway, who threw for 224 yards with two scoring strikes to Jaxsen Schlauch.

The Bulldogs, winners of four straight going in, fell to 4-3.

Missoula Loyola 6

MISSOULA — Running back Gunnar Smith ran 23 times for 228 yards to help Eureka swamp Loyola Sacred Heart in a Western B contest Friday.

Smith ran for two touchdowns covering 29 and 12 yards, and threw a 41-yard option pass to Joey Kindel for a TD with 1:51 left in the first half. That put the Lions (4-2, 3-1 in league) up 28-0.

Loyola (2-3, 1-2) got its only score on an interception return late in the first half.

Quarterback Caleb Utter ran for 101 yards and three touchdowns for the Lions, who outgained the Rams 428-75. Danny Dunn had seven tackles and kicked a pair of PATs for Eureka.
