Marion School outlines back-to-school details
Editor’s note: Marion School was inadvertently omitted from the Inter Lake’s back-to-school information that was published last week.
Marion School
Projected enrollment: 150 students
First day: Sept. 3
Health screening: Staff will be checking temperatures when students arrive in order to gain entry into the building.
Students and staff are required to wear masks under the governor’s mandate.
New curriculum: New Title I math curriculum for K-8 students. Grades 3-5 will also have a new math curriculum from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt called "Into Math.”
New staff: Ryan Brown, custodian; Radka Cooper, Title I paraprofessional; Val Hanson, assistant cook; and Louis Wacker, head cook.
Maintenance projects completed over break: Building was repainted; gym ceiling tiles and lights were replaced; water fountains were replaced to touchless systems with water bottle refill stations; installation of touchless paper towel, hand sanitizer and soap dispensers; touchless sinks were installed in student bathrooms. Plastic dividers were purchased for student desks and tables.
