Skyleigh Thompson’s goal in the 46th minute was enough for the Flathead Bravettes, who edged Helena Capital 1-0 in Western AA girls’ soccer Thursday at Kidsport.
A surge up the middle of the field set up Thompson, who was assisted on her goal by Tessa Smith.
Flathead is 2-1 on the season.

Rachael Plaster’s two second-half goals lifted Helena’s girls over Glacier in Western AA play at the Kidsport complex.
Plaster headed in a corner kick in the 52nd minute to break a 0-0 tie, and scored off a free kick in the 78th minute. The Bengals and Wolfpack (2-1) combined for just 13 shots.

Parker Creer scored once and assisted on Daniel Camp’s goal as the Glacier Wolfpack played to a 2-2 draw with Helena High Thursday at Kidsport.
Camp’s goal in the 18th minute knotted the score at 1-1 and Creer’s unassisted tally in the 34th minute gave the Pack the lead. It held up until Jacob Demmons scored off a corner kick for the Bengals in the 70th minute.
“We did a nice job in terms of giving up a goal and quickly getting an equalizer,” said Glacier coach Ryan Billiet. “We had some opportunities.”
The Wolfpack (1-1-1) misfired on two penalty kicks but also held the charging Bengals out of the goal in the final 10:00 to save the draw.

“We played a great game,” Braves’ coach Zach Brenneman said, after his team fell to 1-2. “It was a battle from start to end. They just put one away and we didn’t. I was proud of our team.
