| September 4, 2020 12:00 AM

An employee of Heritage Place, a skilled nursing facility in Kalispell, tested positive for COVID-19 this week.

The test was confirmed by the state testing lab Thursday. Potential symptoms were recognized during a pre-shift health screening, according to a press release from Heritage Place.

The facility notified its residents and their designated representatives of the positive case. In addition, all staff and residents have been tested, and test results are pending.

“Heritage Place administrators will stay in close communication with local and state health officials to ensure we are taking all the appropriate steps under current circumstances,” the press release said. “We are also following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19.”

In the event a resident becomes infected or has a close contact with someone who tests positive, Heritage Place will reach out to that person’s designated representative. General updates about COVID-19 can be found on the website: www.heritagepcc.com
