C-Falls sweeps Polson; Whitefish routs Libby
COLUMBIA FALLS — Jason Albin scored two goals for the Columbia Falls Wildcats in a 5-2 Northwestern A boys soccer win over Polson on Tuesday.
Albin scored the first and last goals of the game for the Wildcats (6-0-1) and added an assist.
Findley Sundberg checked in with two goals. Niels Getts also found the net for the home team.
“We’re showcasing that we’re not a one horse team, we’ve got multiple guys that can score,” Wildcats coach O’Brien Byrd said. “It’s reassuring to see so many guys getting on the scoreboard. We are excited to see Polson again on Thursday.”
The Wildcats head to Polson for a 5 p.m. game Thursday.

LIBBY — Brandon Mendoza and James Thompson both scored hat tricks for the Whitefish Bulldogs in a 12-1 Northwestern A soccer victory over the Libby Loggers on Tuesday.
Gabe Menicke, Darby McCarthy, Charlie Hyatt, Joe Brandt and Collin Lyman also found the back of the net for the Bulldogs (7-0-1 overall, 4-0-1 league).
Michael Hollingsworth scored for Libby (0-6-0, 0-4-0), who is still searching for a win this season.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Maddie Robison scored three goals and Hope McAtee added two as Columbia Falls pulled away in the second half for a Northwestern A girls’ soccer win.
Cheyanne Johnston-Heinz added a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (6-1 overall, 3-1 in league), and her goal broke a 2-2 tie in the 50th minute.
Robinson and McAtee assisted on each other’s goals two minutes part as the gap grew to 5-2 with 14 minutes left.
Tia Mercer and Autumn Burland found the net for Polson (1-5, 1-3), which was outshot 25-7.

WHITEFISH — Eight players found the back of the net for the Whitefish Bulldogs in a 9-0 Northwestern A girls’ soccer win against Polson on Tuesday.
Anna Akey started the scoring three minutes in and the Bulldogs (7-0-1 overall, 3-0-1 league) continued with a relentless attack on the visiting Pirates (1-5-0, 1-3-0).
Ali Hirsch scored two goals for Whitefish; Sophie Olson added a goal and two assists.
The Bulldogs visit Polson at 7 p.m. Thursday.
