Law roundup: Alleged crime scene isn't what caller imagined

A man had an elaborate explanation for a vehicle he noticed multiple times at a Columbia Falls business, but the alleged complicated crime scene he described to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office wasn’t quite as exciting as the reality: one of the business owners brought people to the property.

Two brown horses wandered into a yard on Conrad Drive in Kalispell. Their owner eventually retrieved them.

Another livestock owner lost track of seven cows, but then they found them.

A woman suspected her slow-moving handyman was deliberately leaving jobs unfinished so he could come back to the property. She decided to wait to see if law enforcement would need to intervene to get him to leave.

A car lover who lives on U.S. 93 in Whitefish apparently works on his vehicles in the middle of the night and races them up and down the street.

A driver said he wanted to make a complaint about a law enforcement vehicle that “got uncomfortably close to his vehicle.” The complainant said he felt it was a “dangerous” move.

A Columbia Falls resident called to see about getting a ride for her intoxicated former husband, who passed out on her couch but no longer lived at the residence because the couple was in the process of separating.

Another unhappy union resulted in a man calling to find the address of his “soon-to-be-ex-wife.” The officer who handled the call explained he couldn’t look up the information or give it out unless it was part of an investigation.

A woman said her neighbor’s music was so loud her windows were vibrating from the sound.

A woman believed there was enough evidence of suspicious activity to request law enforcement’s presence because she heard a car alarm go off and her husband thought “he saw movement.” Officers walked through the area and “nothing appeared out of the ordinary.”
