Columbia Falls tennis edged by Dillon in season opener

POLSON — Columbia Falls netters got back on the court after two years Friday against Dillon at Polson’s newly resurfaced courts.

Thursday’s meeting with Whitefish was cancelled because of poor weather conditions.

Columbia Falls’ girls lost 4-3 to Dillon with wins from Hannah Schweikert and Chloe Ramage in singles and Kati Crockett and Zoey Byrd in doubles.

“It was an absolutely beautiful day and I am so proud of my players,” Columbia Falls coach Michele Colliander. “It is so nice to be back out in the courts competing again and we are looking forward to our next varsity match.”

Niels Getts was the only boys’ singles winner. Dale Blickhan and Nico Lang and Lucas Thacker and Orion Barta won in doubles.

Dillon’s boys won 4-3.

Columbia Falls next plays Glacier and Flathead at FVCC on Tuesday,
