Ruth Alice (Ballard) Pettyjohn, 97

Ruth Alice (Ballard) Pettyjohn passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at her home.

Ruth was born in Belgrade, Montana, to Charles and Jennie Ballard on Nov. 29, 1923.

She graduated from Belgrade High Shool in 1942. During World War II she worked as a lathe operator at a machine shop in Bozeman making valves for submarines.

She attended Bible College in Lemmon, South Dakota and International Bible College in Saskatchewan where she met her future husband Lorne Pettyjohn. They married in June 1948 in Bozeman. In 1959 they moved to Kalispell.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lorne Pettyjohn.

She is survived by her son Robin and his wife Andi Pettyjohn of Phoenix, daughter Patsy and her husband Chuck Trujillo of Auburn, Washington, son Malcolm and his wife Gayla Pettyjohn of Kalispell, and daughter Diane and her husband Gary Fetveit of Kalispell. She also had eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
