No. 27731 Opportunity to Comment on Lake Five Project The Flathead National Forest, Hungry Horse-Glacier View Ranger District has prepared an environmental assessment for the Lake Five Project. The project area is 11,854 acres and located on National Forest System lands between Coram and West Glacier, Montana. The project proposes management activities to address the following resource objectives: reduce tree densities and fuel loadings within the wildland-urban interface; improve the diversity and resilience of terrestrial ecosystems and vegetation; and provide a mix of forest products to contribute to economic sustainability. The proposed management activities have been modified to address public comment received on the proposed action in November 2020 and to reduce effects to resources. The environmental assessment discloses the potential effects of both management activities and taking no action. Project documents, including the environmental assessment and map, can be accessed at the project Web site under the analysis tab: https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/ ?project=58984. How to Comment and Timeframe Specific written comments (§218.2) on the environmental assessment will be accepted for 30 calendar days following publication of this notice in the Daily Inter Lake.
