Glacier’s Emma Anderson on Montana All-Stars roster

There was some height for the Montana All-Stars girls’ basketball team even without Glacier’s Emma Anderson getting selected.

Anderson, the 6-foot-2 Wolfpack pivot, joins seven girls for the annual Montana-Wyoming series, which enters its 24th year with Montana leading 33-13. One of those girls is 6-6 Forsyth product Lindsey Hein, a Montana State signee.

All told there are five on the Montana roster standing 6-0 or taller.

It would have been seven but selections Paige and Dani Bartsch of State AA champion Helena Capital have prior commitments and turned back their selections. Froid’s Sydney Dethman also was selected but will not play.

Anderson averaged 7.6 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Wolf Pack.

State B champion Big Timber has Hailee Brandon on the team, while Aspen Giese of State C champ Fort Benton was also selected.

The series begins June 11 at Sheridan (Wyoming) College’s Golden Dome, and June 12 at Lockwood High School, near Billings. The girls play first both nights, at 5:30 p.m.

Ten boys were selected for the series, and State C champion Scobey is represented by Aiden Fishell and Caden Handran. State AA champion Billings Skyview had Cameron Ketchum and Ky Kouba selected; and Class A champion Billings Central’s Malachi Stewart made the squad.

Montana leads the boys’ series 67-27, and has won 16 straight.

Wyoming has yet to name its all-stars.
