The American Covenant Senior Housing Foundation on Monday announced plans to build a senior retirement home in Libby that will be operated by Immanuel Lutheran Communities.

Cedar Meadows will be built on Educational Way and will include one- and two-bedroom apartments. It will offer independent living, assisted living and memory-care units and services. Residents will have access to amenities such as a restaurant-style dining service, an exercise room and various activities.

Cedar Meadows is being developed with Immanuel Living, a subsidiary of Immanuel Lutheran Communities in Kalispell. Construction is planned to begin this year, with an anticipated opening in fall 2022.

"Cedar Meadows is designed to meet an identified community need in the Libby area, and we could not be more pleased with having Immanuel Lutheran Communities assisting us with the development and eventual operations of Cedar Meadows," Gerald Fritts, director of the American Covenant Senior Housing Foundation, said in a statement.

The American Covenant Senior Housing Foundation currently has projects in Montana, Nevada, Indiana, South Carolina and Utah. Other projects are being developed in Oklahoma and California. American Covenant also has joined with the Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana to develop 24 low-income housing units in Libby.
