Naomi Kathryn Hegger, 58

| August 4, 2021 12:00 AM

Naomi Kathryn Hegger passed away peacefully in her home on July 22, 2021, in Somers, at the age of 58. Her heart stopped, but the love, kindness, devotion and joy she gave to others now lives on in their hearts. The glow from her spirit will be felt in her home and with her family and friends forever. She is a candle that cannot be blown out.

Naomi is survived by her husband Richard, children Roy and Grace, her mother Mary, and brother and sister Tim and Becky. She also has gained loving sisters and brothers from Richard in Sue, Jerrie, Cindy, Corey, Robert, Joe and Dennis as well as her “sister of the heart” Missy. Numerous nieces and nephews treasure her memory.

Naomi was born on Sept. 1, 1962, in Utah to Michael and Mary O’Brien. She met Richard in 2001 and they were married in 2004 in Santorini, Greece. Naomi fulfilled her longtime dream and became a flight attendant for Horizon Air. Bringing the same devotion she gave to her family to the skies, she excelled and gained continual recognition for her shining personality and caring touch. She was instantly recognizable in the skies and airports throughout the U.S. and Canada. But her special passion was

traveling with her family. Like a warm cup of tea, with only the best crème, their adventures together were mixed in a loving brew. Her children remember her as both a loving and driven mom who supported their dreams and loved them dearly.

Naomi was accomplished at many things but loved her gardening. She often spent her time outside her home planting beautiful foliage and providing a sanctuary to the local native wildlife. Her love for animals led her to the jungles of South America and the African bush, where she held ocelots, monkeys, snakes, insects, rode horses and elephants and created broad smiles on the faces of all that she met.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 10 at Christ Church Episcopal in

Kalispell. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Naomi’s life. Naomi spread her care and love by volunteering at CASA for Kids in Flathead. Accordingly, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to CASA for Kids, P.O. Box 11195, Kalispell, MT 59904 (or online at flatheadcasa.org/donate). The family would like to thank the nurses and other staff at Home Options for their dedication and care of Naomi in her and her family’s time of need.
