However the preference given to resident bidders of this state must be equal to the preference given in the other state or country and must further pay the prevailing wage rates to workers performing labor on the contract if the contract exceeds $25,000.00. Prevailing wage rates are determined by the Commissioner of Labor as provided in 18-2-401 and 18-2-402 Montana Code Annotated. The contractor is required to keep wage records to substantiate that prevailing wages have in fact been paid. Contractors are also reminded that one percent (1%) of each payment due will be withheld for the required Montana Contractors Tax. No. 27960 INVITATION TO BID FLATHEAD COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISTRICT BMP PIPE MAINTENANCE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Notice is hereby given that the Flathead County Solid Waste District will receive bids for the construction of the BMP Pipe Maintenance Construction Project. The project generally consists of maintenance activities on existing downdrain pipes, inlet connections, and adjacent surface improvements. Work generally consists of removing and salvaging existing downdrains, remediation of closure cap (top 12"), erosion control/final stabilization, installing salvaged downdrain pipe, enhancing connection to existing headwall(s), and placement of crushed road base. Flathead County and other stakeholders are interested in the collection of up to 146 section corner and quarter-section corner monuments in the Whitefish and Columbia Falls region. This monument collection will improve the Public Land Survey System, allowing for adjustment of cadastral and administrative boundaries to more accurately represent on-the-ground conditions. The existing well and cistern installed in 1977 have far surpassed their expected service lives and have experienced significant degradation. What happens if the license is protested? Depending on the number of protests and the protest grounds, a public hearing will be held in Helena or Olney. All valid protestors will be notified of the hearing's time, date and location. Hearings typically are scheduled within 90 days. A protester's hearing testimony is limited to the grounds in the protester's letter. Following the hearing, the Department of Revenue will notify the public whether the license is approved or denied.
