Law roundup: Tenant gets into tussle after eviction
A resident getting evicted on Jellison Road in Columbia Falls reportedly yelled at an on-site manager who drove by and went over to him where they got into a “little tussle.” The tenant allegedly threatened to stab the manager in the eye with a screwdriver, which he had in his hand, and the manager pulled out a gun, pointed it at him, and told him to “go ahead.” The manager reported the incident to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, telling deputies he had separated from the problematic tenant.
A Gazebo Lane resident in Kalispell was concerned a woman was on drugs after she allegedly pulled up to their driveway in a green vehicle and knocked on the front door. The resident then heard the woman knocking at the backdoor, where she yelled they needed to let her in and she was seen holding a bunch of small boxes. The resident told her to leave, which she did, however, she reportedly returned after a short period of time and banged on the door saying they had to jump her car. When they wouldn’t, she got into her vehicle and peeled out of the driveway.
A black cow and an aggressive bull were “tearing things up” on a woman’s Crabtree Lane property in Kalispell. She said the bull was charging people. She called back when the bull moved to a field away from the location and its owner was notified.

A couple on Caps Road in Kalispell were engaged in a verbal argument and a man called deputies claiming a woman bit him several times. The man, who sounded extremely intoxicated, reportedly told deputies he had used methamphetamine recently and it was determined his injuries were not bite marks. The woman said no assaults occurred and the man had a condition that made his skin tear easily. Both parties refused to leave the property and were advised to remain separated to avoid more conflict.
A bartender on Montana 35 in Bigfork saw a drunk man with shaggy hair chasing a woman around the building until she ran back inside. She told deputies he had assaulted her but didn’t want to pursue criminal charges. The pair were separated for the night.
A driver was spotted slumped over the wheel of his truck at a stoplight on Reserve Drive in Kalispell and when he started driving again he swerved all over the road before turning into a gas station.
A woman calling from Fox Ridge Lane in Bigfork wanted law enforcement to “take away” a man dressed all in black sitting in the road near her residence. He told deputies he was hiking north toward Canada. Deputies oriented him northward and warned him about private property, wildfires and border closures. When the man claimed he was homeless, deputies said it may be prudent to plan for winter since it comes fast.
A man with a shopping cart came onto a U.S. 2 property where someone's business was located, stole a cone from the parking lot and threw it in the Stillwater River.
A man who sounded intoxicated reportedly tried to get into an elderly woman’s home in Columbia Falls. The woman told deputies he was pounding on the front door, trying the doorknob and yelling that he wanted in. Deputies made contact with the man, who purportedly insisted he be dropped off at a bar and he would make his way home.
A grizzly bear and cub were seen walking around a residence and were last seen in River’s Edge Park, according to a Columbia Falls Police Department report.
