Law roundup: Shirtless guitarist may be pyromaniac
Someone called the Whitefish Police Department to report a shirtless man with a guitar burning small pieces of wood with a magnifying glass.
A concerned citizen called the police to have them check on a homeless person sleeping in an antique car.
Someone stole a custom frame that was built for a raft. The thief, or thieves, also got away with two blue-handled paddles and life jackets.
A New Jersey resident called because she lost an i-watch while visiting in July. She said she had a location where it was pinging but it was not found.
A woman from Washington said her neighbor destroyed a shared fence. She was told to call the city and pursue the matter in civil court.
A cat owner said her feline friend was bitten by a bat and had to get a rabies booster. The health department has the bat and is waiting on test results. A message was left for the cat owner to put the animal in quarantine.
Someone said a man driving a yellow dump truck knocked on her car window and spit on her.
A vagrant, possibly under the influence of various substances, has been wandering through properties recently. Several officers reported speaking with the man in the last week. He appears to have a camp set up north of Veterans Bridge. An arrangement was made with his mother in Nevada to get him a bus ticket and he agreed to go. But he ended up missing the bus because it wasn’t “his choice.”
Someone called 911 after seeing four young kids in the back of a pickup truck. They were not restrained in any way. The vehicle was later stopped at the lodge.
A person called after two heavy-set men who had been drinking heavily entered the lobby. The property owner wanted them moved along, but they said they had keys for a room and were going to call it a night.
A foreman and his wife were on a job site last night when they caught two women stealing siding and plywood. They confronted the pair and one of them ran away when they tried to learn their identities. Fortunately, the materials were returned and both prospective thieves were restricted from returning to the location.
