Class A football: Columbia Falls routs Stevi; Whitefish clips Dillon 28-26

COLUMBIA FALLS — Isaiah Roth ran for 170 yards on 14 carries and scored three touchdowns in Columbia Falls’ 35-6 win over Stevensville in Western A football action Friday.

Roth had scoring runs of 62 and 16 yards and also hauled in a 20-yard scoring pass from Cody Schweikert.

Schweikert, making his first start at quarterback, completed 12 of 18 passes for 110 yards and ran eight times for 51 more. He was intercepted once.

Cade Morgan caught three passes for 24 yards for the Wildcats, who outgained the Yellowjackets 346-152 on a wet field.

Whitefish 28, Dillon 26

DILLON — Fynn Ridgeway threw for 191 yards and one touchdown and ran for another score as Whitefish scored an impressive 28-26 win over the Dillon Beavers in Western A football Friday.

Ridgeway completed 18 of 32 passes, with his 23-yard touchdown strike to Jaxsen Schlauch in the third quarter put Whitefish up 28-14. Schlauch had six catches for 115 yards.

Ty Schwaiger ran for 53 yards on 17 carries, including scoring runs of 2 and 7 yards, for the Bulldogs.

Ryder Barinowski had two 2-point PATs, which were important because Dillon closed to 28-26 on a 68-yard touchdown reception by Treyton Anderson with 2:15 remaining.

The Beavers couldn’t connect on a 2-point PAT pass, and the Bulldogs held on.
