Wynne, Tanner lead locals at Belgrade Invitational
BELGRADE — Flathead’s Jillian Wynne and Glacier’s Chloe Tanner are in fifth and sixth place, respectively, after the first day of the Belgrade Invitational.
Wynne shot a 76 at Riverside Country Club, while Tanner was two shots behind her with a 78.
Billings West’s Bella Johnson leads with a 69.
Teamwise, Billings West also leads at 315. Bozeman (329), Gallatin (334), Billings Senior (336) and Glacier (365) round out the top five. Flathead sits seventh among the girls teams, at 407.
On the boys side, Gallatin’s Verge brothers lead the way. Justus Verge shot a 65 and Jordan Verge a 69 for the first day.
Glacier’s Keaton Cassidy and Will Salonen are both the top 15. Cassidy is currently 13th with a first day score of 75 and Salonen is tied for 14th at 76.
The Gallatin boys lead the tournament by 23 strokes. They are at 277. Second-place Helena Capital is at 300. Billings Senior and Glacier are tied for third at 306. Flathead is eighth at 327.
The tournament concludes today.
