The Glacier boys and girls swim teams dominated the Kalispell High School Invitational swim meet on Saturday.

The girls racked up 373 points and the boys scored 353.

The girls were nearly double the point total of second place Whitefish, which had 195. The Columbia Falls girls were third with 144 and Bigfork scored 135.

On the boys side, Whitefish was second at 205 and Columbia Falls was third at 158. Sentinel was fourth with 151.

The relays were huge for Glacier, according to coach Karen Douda.

“A first place in the relays is 32 points and a first place in an individual event is 16 … so relays are critical in high school swimming,” she said.

Both teams won every relay — 200 free, 200 medley and 400 free.

Double winners for the Wolfpack were Drew Bouda (200 free and 500 free), Madison Taylor (200 free and 500 free) and Isaac Keim (50 free and 100 backstroke).

The coach complimented the efforts of football players Xander Stout and Isaac Keim.

"It will take more than a minute to get them ready for 100 yard events. After one week off, these two have surpassed expectations, with Xander winning the 100 butterfly and Isaac nailing the 50 free and 100 backstroke. "Those two guys - Isaac and Xander are just pure athletes. They know that the 100's are going to be brutal for them until we get about 6 weeks into practice."

Bouda also made mention of Flathead swimmer Ayden Strobbe-Barry, who placed third in the 50 free and second in the 100 free.

"Ayden has so much natural talent, our goal is to harness this with better technique and solid practice," she said.
