Let’s rally around our library

The current divisions we are all creating among ourselves have not ever helped us as humanity.

I am sorry to see yet another library director resigning. The library is a zone of learning about ourselves and our world and unfortunately groups of people choosing to control content are not new. The ALA is not an evil entity, nor are the trustees or the people trying to make our library what a library needs to be for ALL the people.

The trustees who use words like “leftist” and “agenda” to make sure people understand their moral authority are hitting themselves in the nose.

We all want our world to be fair and just with clean air and water and people caring about one another. Libraries are safe places to be cherished.

Our library has been struggling with poor funding and lost chances for building improvements. Perhaps this is a good time to rally around our library and honor the idea of what that support means to a community.
