No. 28240 Service Date: December 16, 2021 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATION BEFORE THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF MONTANA IN THE MATTER OF NorthWestern Energy's Application for Automatic Rate Adjustment and Tracking for Taxes and Fees REGULATORY DIVISION DOCKET NO. 2021.11.129 NOTICE OF APPLICATION AND INTERVENTION DEADLINE On December 14th, 2021, NorthWestern Energy ("NorthWestern") filed with the Montana Public Service Commission ("Commission") its Application for Automatic Rate Adjustment and Tracking for Taxes and Fees ("Application"), reflecting changes in its state and local property taxes. NorthWestern's proposed adjustment results in a revenue decrease of $10,834,136 for its electric utility service and $2,380,044 for its natural gas utility service. A copy of the Application is publicly available at the following locations: the Commission's business office, 1701 Prospect Avenue, Helena, MT; upon request to pschelp@mt.gov or 1-800-646-6150; and at the office of Montana Consumer Counsel ("MCC"), which represents consumer interests before the Commission, 111 North Last Chance Gulch, Suite 1B, Helena, MT, (406) 444-2771. Interested parties can register on the Commission's website to be added to the Watch List for notice of filings in this docket (select "EDDI", create ePass account, and, under "Watch List" tab, enter Docket No. 2021.11.129). Any person directly affected by the Application who desires to be a party in this proceeding must petition to intervene no later than December 23, 2021. In order to afford due process: (1) data requests may be issued no later than January 7, 2022; (2) NorthWestern must respond to data requests within five business days of service (excluding state recognized holidays) or by January 14, 2022, whichever is earlier; (3) parties wishing to submit comments or request a hearing must do so no later than January 21, 2022; and (4) the Commission may hold a public hearing, if requested by an intervenor or upon its own action, at the Commission's offices. If the Commission does not issue an order by January 29, 2022, the rates will be considered approved. Mont. Code Ann. ยง 69-3-308(2)(c).
