Robert 'Bob' A. Babbitt, 61
Robert “Bob” A. Babbitt, 61, of Kalispell, passed away Jan. 29, 2021. Bob was born Oct. 6, 1959, in Muncie, Indiana, to Robert and Bonnie (Cartwright) Babbitt. Bob was raised in Indiana.
Bob joined the Army serving form 1977 to 1997, and retired after 20 years of service as a captain. He served in Desert Storm and he received the Bronze Star and legion of Merit awards, among many others.
Bob became a physician assistant in the Army and practiced for 32 years. Orthopedics became his favorite but he loved his patients no matter the specialty.
Bob married Chris Palmer on March 23, 2001, in Abilene, Texas. They celebrated 20 years together. Bob loved to snow ski and ride his motorcycle. He was a member of the priesthood motorcycle ministry prior to moving back to Kalispell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two of his sons, Bradley Babbitt and Richard Gould.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Babbitt; children, Robby Babbitt, Brian Babbitt, Jamie Tatum and Jennifer Lofton; brother, Steve Babbitt; and his aunt, Sandy; who was like a sister to him; and grandchildren, Aubrey, Anthony, Rayne, Kynsleigh, Bradley, Carter, Cashton, Collyns and Miles.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 3, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with burial with military honors at Fairview Cemetery in Kalispell.
