Hoops roundup: Wildkats rout Lady Pirates for 10th win
COLUMBIA FALLS — Hannah Schweikert’s double-double helped the Columbia Falls Wildkats bounce the Polson Lady Pirates in a lopsided 60-11 Northwest A win on Thursday.
Schweikert scored 21 points (16 in the first half) and grabbed 10 rebounds. Maddie Robison and Lakia Hill each scored 10 points, and Lauren Falkner had 10 rebounds to go with four points for the Wildkats (10-0 overall, 5-0 conference).
“We’ve been off about eight or nine days, so it was good to get out there and play and just continue to get better,” Wildkats coach Cary Finberg said.
Polson, who struggled to score, turned the ball over 37 times – 25 of those in the first half.
Jazlyn Dalbey, Megan Rost and Turquoise Pierre each scored three points for Polson (0-8, 0-4).
Columbia Falls will play the Whitefish Lady Bulldogs in an away game at 7:15 p.m. tonight.

BIGFORK — The Bigfork Valkyries avenged a January loss to the Mission Lady Bulldogs with a 51-41 victory in a District 7B game Thursday.
Emma Berreth paced Bigfork with 17 points, and Scout Nadeau added 10.
The Valkyries outscored the Bulldogs 18-6 in the second quarter.
Mayson Currie led Mission with 12 points.

MISSION — Bryce Gilliard poured in 20 points to lead the Bigfork Vikings over the Mission Bulldogs in a tight 61-59 District 7B boys basketball game.
Cormac Benn added 15 points for the Vikings, who led 33-13 at the half. Walker Fisher pitched in with 11 points.
For Mission, Zaron Laframboise scored a game-high 25 points.
