Knights edge Braves in Missoula
MISSOULA — Josh Wade scored 13 points, Cayve LaRance added 10 and Missoula Hellgate held Flathead to 11 second-half points in a 48-34 Western AA boys’ basketball victory Thursday.
Joston Cripe scored 14 points for Flathead, which beat Hellgate 57-55 in Kalispell a month ago. Ethan VandenBosch added nine points for the Braves.
The game started quickly and then slowed way down. Flathead’s Gabe Adams hit a jumper in the lane to tie the game at 23-all, but Hellgate scored the last two baskets of the half – Josh Wade’s floater made it 27-23 – before grinding out a lead in the third and fourth quarters.
Adams added six points for the Braves, who were held to a season-low.
