Two events cause thousands to lose power
A truck reportedly took down an electric line Wednesday afternoon in Flathead County, causing a power outage which affected thousands of people.
Also, according to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 1 spokesperson Dillon Tabish, an electrical box in front of their office on North Meridian Road blew up, which caused a power failure in their office and also affected others in the area.
Tabish said the office will reopen Thursday if it has power. An announcement would be made on social media.
According to the Flathead Electric Cooperative website, there were three outages affecting 3,933 people, mainly in Kalispell and areas south and west of town.
According to cooperative spokesperson Wendy Ostrom, she estimated power would be restored between 4 and 4:30 p.m.
As of 5:48 p.m., the cooperative outage map indicated one customer was still without power.
