Butte snuffs Bravettes second-half comeback
Butte’s MacKenzie Tutty drained back-to-back 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter to quash the Flathead Bravettes’ comeback attempt and win 40-30 in Western AA girls basketball Tuesday.
Flathead trailed 30-14 at the half and closed the gap to 33-30 before Tutty’s threes around the 3:30 mark of the fourth.
Tutty led Butte with 20 points, and McCaul McCarthy added eight for the Bulldogs.
The Bravettes were led by Clare Converse’s 15 points. Ivy Gannon and Kennedy Moore each added four points.
Flathead next plays host to Glacier for a 7:15 p.m. crosstown game Thursday.

RONAN — Ronan cruised to the No. 4 seed in Northwest A with a 56-19 win over Libby Monday.
The win earned the Maidens a berth in the Western A divisional tournament in Butte, which starts Thursday and runs through Saturday. Ronan will play the No. 1 southwest seed Butte Central at 7 p.m Thursday.
Ari Burke paced the Maidens with 11 points, and Madeline McCrea added 10.
For the Loggers, Rylee Boltz led with five points.
