C-Falls MatCats second at Western A divisional

LIBBY — Frenchtown took home the Western A Divisional title Saturday after scoring 297.5 points, outpacing second-place Columbia Falls by more than 90 points.

Columbia Falls (205 points) overtook Libby/Troy, second after Friday’s matches, to bump them to third. Whitefish moved up one spot to fourth, edging Ronan by three points.

The Wildcats had three first-place finishers (out of five semifinalists): Justin Windauer (126) and Lucas Thacker (160) and Isiah Roth (145). Josiah Kilmad (120) placed third, as did Tyler Gilfry (113); Josh Bertram (182) was second, Gage Lemburg (132) placed sixth and Rowdy White (170) and Brandon Role (205) were fourth.

Whitefish’s Nathan Sproul took home the 113 title and Jack Akey (145) was second; Rylee Creasey (160) fell to fourth place.

Ryley Knutson of Polson took second at 103, Masyn Powell (126) was third.

Libby/Troy’s Cody Crace won the title at 152 pounds as did Aydan Williamson at 285. Zhane Jenkins (170) and Xander Spady (138) were fifth.
