Toni Heckel, 96

Toni Heckel, 96, of Kalispell passed away on Jan. 1, 2021, in Kalispell.

Toni was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on April 8, 1924. She moved to Denver with her parents as a youngster and attended public schools there. She studied art and music at Denver University.

In 1972 Toni moved to the Flathead Valley with her husband Bob and children. Devoted to her husband, the love of her life, she enjoyed many adventures with him and shared his love of the outdoors and nature. A well-known artist in Kalispell, Toni was honored by Gov. Stan Stevens in 1991 when her artwork was displayed at the Governor’s Mansion in Helena. Accompanied by her faithful friend Marge, Toni’s dream of touring Paris and other cities in Europe was fulfilled.

She enjoyed music, playing the piano, baking scrumptious pies, and spending time with friends and family. Toni participated in activities as a member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Somers.

Toni’s husband was her caregiver for many years while she was impaired due to Alzheimer’s.

Toni was preceded in death by her son, Michael.

Toni is survived by her husband Robert Heckel, children Pamela, Stephanie, Robert Jr., grandchild Destiny, and two great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family.
