Lincoln Co. deputy on leave following shooting
A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been placed on paid leave after being involved in a shooting Thursday morning.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies and detectives from the department responded to a domestic disturbance at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday with multiple weapons involved.
While on scene a man allegedly involved in the disturbance was shot by an officer. The man was transported by Libby Volunteer Ambulance to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center and then was transported by ALERT helicopter to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disturbance and an investigative team from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and the Kalispell Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
The deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
