Daniel G. Weldele, 63

| January 20, 2021 12:00 AM

Dan died tragically the evening of Oct. 17, 2020.

He was born to David V. Weldele and Elizabeth M. (Weber) Weldele on Jan. 20, 1957, in Romeo, Michigan. He joined three brothers and, in the next three years, two sisters were born.

In 1960 the family moved back to Montana, and in 1963 settled in Whitefish.

Dan’s school years were all in Whitefish. He enjoyed all sports and played baseball and football as his two sons, Jason and Jeff, grew. He spent many years coaching them in Little League.

He loved the outdoors and time spent mentoring his sons to appreciate what was available to them in the Flathead.

Some of his most special times were spent hunting and fishing with his father. They had many great trips floating the Missouri River and pike fishing on Tally Lake. In the last few years his greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters, Ella and Caden. He adored them and every minute spent with them meant the world to him.

He is survived by his brothers, Dave (Judy), Darryl, and Duane (Janna), and sister Denise; several nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles and cousins that he always loved joking with.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Betty, and sister Dawn (Gary) Alsup.

He has been cremated and there will be an informal gathering to scatter his ashes when the pandemic restrictions allow.

In the meantime our thoughts and prayers are with you as you are reunited with Mom, Dad, and Dawn again.
