Whitefish foundation opens spring grant, Kids Fund applications
Whitefish Community Foundation is accepting applications to the 2021 Spring Community Grant Program from Jan. 25 to Feb. 25.
The Community Grant Program is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit charities located in Flathead County that are not applying to participate in the 2021 Great Fish Community Challenge. Local organizations are encouraged to apply once annually for a Community Grant of up to $4,000, to support programs benefiting residents of the Flathead Valley. In 2020, Whitefish Community Foundation awarded over $71,000 in Community Grants to 27 different organizations serving local communities.
Nonprofits serving Flathead Valley youth experiencing homelessness, or youth at risk of becoming homeless, are invited to visit the Foundation website, call or attend a Zoom roundtable on Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. to learn more about funding opportunities within the Kids Fund – Giving Voice to Children. The Kids Fund supports programs primarily serving disadvantaged youth with immediate needs in the areas of health, safety and education.
Beginning in 2021, the Kids Fund will be offering a Fast-Track arm, providing organizations with one-time grants of up to $10,000. Kids Fund Fast-Track grants will provide nonprofits working with this vulnerable population funding to bolster or expand resources within existing programs. The greater arm of the Kids Fund will continue to support development of programs to prevent and end child homelessness within the Flathead Valley with grants of up to $50,000, which may be renewable, depending on the scale of the project or program.
Whitefish Community Foundation has facilitated over $45 million in grants to nonprofits since inception in 2000, and serves as a catalyst for philanthropy by fostering collaborative and innovative giving in the community.
