Caller 'just wants to vent a little bit'

| January 30, 2021 12:00 AM

A woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department because she “just wanted to vent a little bit.” The caller was reportedly “upset about the lack of progress being made in her burglary case...against her mother.” She was informed law enforcement was already dealing with a higher-priority issue at the time she called.

A woman said her husband witnessed someone “driving in ditches and taking out fences.” The wild driver was apparently piloting an older Honda vehicle with, unsurprisingly, front-end damage and only one functioning headlight.

A Columbia Falls man said his ex-girlfriend took his dog to her grandparents’ house and warned him he couldn’t go pick up the dog.

Law enforcement was searching for a man in a yellow sweatshirt who apparently ran off into some woods after an unspecified incident.

A “suspicious backpack” was picked up at a crosswalk and the person who retrieved it wanted law enforcement to contact them about the find.

A woman was warned for driving with no tail lights.

A vehicle seemed to be running on Seventh Street and someone nearby told the police he thought it was “suspicious.” Law enforcement contacted the owner, who said his brother was working on the vehicle. He promised to contact the disgruntled caller to explain the situation.

A woman in the parking lot of a pizza place accidentally called 911 and apologized multiple times to the dispatcher. An officer drove through the parking lot after the call just to be safe, but everything appeared to be alright.
