WHITEFISH — Thursday’s men’s leader Joey Moore became Friday’s leader too, and Jasi Acharya maintained her lead of the women’s field on the second day of the 85th annual Earl Hunt 4th of July Golf Tournament at Whitefish Lake Golf Club.

Moore leads by one stroke after carding at 74 on the par 72 North Course. The 2019 winner Andrew Medley shot 69 for the second day in a row and is one stroke behind second place Ben Hayes and two strokes from the leader. Hayes shot the lowest round of any player Friday with 68 strokes.

Riley Lawrence and Oscar Maxfield are tied in fourth place, both at 139 total strokes.

At 2-under for the day, Acharya put a little distance between her and second place player Morgan O'Neil, who shot 76.

Isabella Johnson was plus-4 on the par 71 South Course and led the women’s first flight group. Johnson had been tied with Acharya for the lead after Thursday's round.

Kalispell’s Marcella Mercer shot a 76 to move in to third place.

Defending women’s champion Cora Rosanova is 76-80—156 after two rounds, which puts her in fifth place.

Joe Cielak of Libby and Whitefish’s Greg Heitzer are tied for first in the men’s senior flight. Both have 147 total strokes after two days of play.

Ron Ramsbacher shot a 72, 1-over on the par 71 South Course and the lowest senior men’s round, to land in third place. Gary Holt and Tommy Lindell are in a tie for fourth with a total of 151 strokes each.

The tournament wraps up today with rounds for the leading golfers to start at approximately 1 p.m. The women’s and senior flights will play the North course while the men will play the South Course.
