The WWTP is a major owned publicly owned treatment works which discharges into the Bitterroot River. The facility operates an extended aeration system with ultraviolet light disinfection and an average daily design flow of 1.984 million gallons per day. Permit limits are carried forward from the 2011-issued permit. The proposed permit includes ambient monitoring requirement for pH, temperature, total ammonia, copper, zinc, and hardness. The proposed permit reduces the monitoring requirement from year-round monthly monitoring to seasonal (July, August, September) monthly monitoring for Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus.
