Williams, Zhang lead Loggers over A Lakers
LIBBY — Caden Williams threw a one-hitter and Tripp Zhang slugged a 3-run homer as Libby downed the Kalispell A Lakers 7-0 in the first game of a Legion doubleheader Tuesday at Lee Gehring Field.
Williams got all the runs he needed when Aydan Williamson singled in Tucker Masters in the first inning; Zhang created a 4-0 cushion with his home run in the second.
Williams threw seven innings, allowing four walks along with a fourth-inning single by Haiden Bunyea. He fanned seven.
Masters also tripled for the Loggers (12-18). Pitcher Fletcher Postlewait allowed nine hits and four earned runs in 4-plus innings of work for the Lakers (16-20). He struck out five.
The second game of the Western A twinbill was not over at press time.
