Law roundup: Stranger shares too much information

A man on a bicycle and a hole in his pants purportedly started telling someone, who probably didn’t ask, about his personal life and touching women’s clothing.

Kalispell Police Department received a report that a woman’s husband allegedly got in the passenger seat of her car, reached over, started the car and began driving toward telephone poles, but she turned the wheel to avoid them and hit some bushes instead. She claimed he intentionally tried to hit the poles. He agreed to meet officers at the station.

A customer purportedly threatened to beat up a woman when she got off her shift. There were photos and videos of the man.

A man was reportedly drinking alcohol and started walking toward First Street West. The person who reported the incident said they called the previous day regarding the man urinating in public. Officers advised him about the open container ordinance.

A man’s father-in-law allegedly was following him.

Someone reportedly wanted officers to check on a dog that was panting inside a truck with windows partially open even after noticing someone was with the dog the whole time.

A tailgate extension was reported stolen from a vehicle on Fourth Avenue West North.

Someone was concerned about how long a shirtless man was lying in a field and asked officers to check on his welfare.

A man went to the police station with concerns about the continued harassment from his father-in-law after receiving a vague message the in-law wanted to do something to him.

A passerby told officers a man sitting at a bus stop was slumped over and appeared to either be sleeping or “not breathing.” He was OK.

Someone was concerned about two employees “packing” at the office “due to so many shootings recently.” One woman allegedly had a gun in her waistband and another in her purse and called corporate, which said they don’t allow that.

A man believed a child around 5 years old, who was being watched by a babysitter, shot a pellet gun and almost hit him but hit a shed instead.

A trio of women was causing problems with employees and allegedly had been with a group of people who stole beers. An employee asked officers to move them along.

A man reported about $2,000 worth of “goods” were stolen from his boat.

Someone claimed a restaurant was saving all its “catering garbage” until the end of the week and dumping it into neighbors’ trash cans in the alley. The person said the cans were overflowing, there were flies everywhere, and the caller was concerned about littering and “theft of services.”

Columbia Falls Police Department advised a man it was OK to drive a horse-drawn carriage and to just use proper safety equipment.

A pedestrian requested extra patrol at a crosswalk where they allegedly had nearly been hit multiple times by vehicles turning from Fourth Avenue West to U.S. 2 East.

Two kids in a golf cart on Talbot Road were returned to their parents.

Someone reportedly got into an argument with a friend about driving while intoxicated on Sixth Avenue and took the keys to his vehicle. The friend then threatened to grab his gun from his vehicle, which was locked. He got a ride home from a sober driver and no one wanted to pursue charges.

Officers attempted to locate a man on Fourth Avenue who was hanging around the area of a public pool, and then a 14-year-old left with him to get ice cream after her friends told her not to go.
