HAVRE — The Glacier Twins didn’t get an easy draw for the State A Legion tournament in Havre.

The host Havre Northstars, the top team in the North A all season, placed second at its District tournament — the Great Falls Chargers were the upset winners — so they take on the Twins at 7 p.m.

Glacier comes in with a 45-13 record born of solid pitching and timely hitting up and down the lineup. Havre is 35-14, including a 9-8 loss to the Twins on June 18.

Mason Peters, Stevyn Andrachick and Zach Veneman continue to lead from the top of the order, but the bottom four came up large at the West A District tournament.

Glacier went 3-0 in Missoula to win districts for the second straight year.

Havre has a couple solid pitchers in Carson Lunak, who is 8-2 with a 3.17 earned-run average, and Brody Nanini, who is 9-1, 3.25. They’ve combined to strike out 81 hitters.

Glacier went 1-2 at state last year; the Twins were state champions in 2014 and 2018.

The Billings Blue Jays beat Lewistown 11-2 to win last year’s championship. Neither the Blue Jays nor the Redbirds got out of districts last week.
