ImagineIF Libraries will take educational children's programming outdoors this summer.

Due to limited space in the library to safely host in-person programs, indoor events will remain on pause through the summer. ImagineIF still will provide summer learning opportunities for youth in Flathead County.

During June, July and August, kids can enjoy outdoor early literacy classes and "story strolls" at local parks around the Flathead Valley. Youth and adults can enjoy reading a children's picture book while strolling along a nature path. Studies have shown that families that read together grow strong readers.

The story strolls will take place June 10-17 at Bigfork Nature Trails, June 19-25 at Lawrence Park in Kalispell and July 9-16 at the West Shore Community Library.

More information can be found at imagineiflibraries.org/for-you/kids.

Additionally, ImagineIF's Summer Experience Program will launch next Monday. Youth and adults can pick up guidebooks and adventure kits designed to encourage participation in science, technology, engineering, art and math, as well as nature activities at all ImagineIF locations. More information can be found at imagineiflibraries.org/summer-experience.

Libraries returned to full operating hours in May. Masks are recommended and appreciated, but not required. Curbside pickup and personal shopper services still are available.
