Twins blow out Libby to split twinbill
LIBBY — Danny Dunn doubled twice, drove in three runs and threw two scoreless innings of relief for the Glacier Twins in their 18-4 win over Libby late Friday in Legion baseball.
The win gave the Twins a split of a doubleheader against theirWestern A rival; Libby won the first game 6-5.
Dunn’s 2-run double keyed a 4-run third inning that put the Twins (18-8) up 8-0. After Libby (5-11) scored four times in its half — Ayden Wiliamson’s 2-run double was the big hit — Dunn hit a sacrifice fly and Hayden Meehan had an RBI single in the fourth as the Twins pushed their lead to 11-4.
Stevyn Andrachick hit a 2-run double in a 7-run fifth inning that let the Twins end the game early under the mercy rule.
Andrachick and Mason Peters also drove in three runs; Taylor Brian, Meehan, Mikey Glass, Jake McIntyre and Dunn all scored three times.
George Robbins, McIntyre and Dunn combined on a 6-hitter, striking out seven and walking none. Libby’s quartet of pitchers, meanwhile, issued 12 walks and three wild pitches while surrendering nine hits.
