Lois Ann Thon, 95

Lois Ann Thon, 95, died June 9, 2021.

Lois Ann was born on June 29, 1925, in Detroit. She grew up the beloved only child of Minnie and Leo Lockwood and the youngest of many adoring cousins. She entered the University of Michigan at the end of World War II where a handsome young veteran studying architecture caught her eye. She and Raymond Thon were married June 11, 1949. After their studies were completed in 1950, they moved to Ray’s hometown of Kalispell where he would start his architectural firm and they would raise four children.

Lois Ann was a member of AAUW and PEO. She had a curious mind and loved to travel, read and learn new things. She loved spending time at the family cabin on Little Bitterroot Lake where she swam on her 90th birthday. She had many good friends, was much loved by her family, and her smile brightened everyone’s day.

She leaves behind her four children and their spouses, Gary Thon (Glenna), Wendy Thon (Tom Weingarten), Laurie Milner, and Melanie Thon; and six grandchildren, Melinda Milner (Nathan Wall), Mike Thon, Brad Thon (Alyssa), Kelsey Milner (Amanda), Chris Milner, and Hayley Milner.

Her family is eternally grateful to all of the wonderful people at the Buffalo Hill Terrace who made her life good for the past 13-plus years.

She leaves a hole in all of our hearts.
