| June 22, 2021 12:00 AM

A man who purportedly discovered a “suspicious campground” in the area of Martin Camp Road 35 years ago was feeling uneasy about it and wanted a deputy to accompany him back to the site. He claimed the site was suspicious because of the people who had gone missing at the time. He was advised the Flathead County Sheriff's Office would be unable to do that without more information about a possible crime. He said he would revisit the site when he was back in town and would call again if he discovered anything else suspicious.

Someone thought a horse appeared to be dead on McMannamy Draw Road. Deputies checked it out and found the horses were “very much alive and on their feet,” and let the caller know that horses do lie down from time to time.

A woman might want to invest in some singing lessons after a neighbor on U.S. 2 Marion allegedly thought she was screaming and saying to call 911, which she did, but found out everyone was fine.

The third time wasn’t the charm for a man on Bayou Road in Kalispell who claimed he was calling to complain about a dog barking for the third time in two weeks and said he had kept a bark log. The dog in question, however, wasn’t barking and remained mum when a deputy showed up and spoke with the owner, who thought one of the neighbors was trying to get him in trouble and that his dogs don’t bark.

Someone reportedly drove by a pool on Conrad Drive in Kalispell and thought it looked like a dog was stuck in the pool and in distress, so they called officers thinking it might drown because no one was around. Turns out, the dog was just taking a swim and was out of the pool when deputies arrived.

A “large field water sprayer” by a nursery on Creston Road was either malfunctioning, or not set up right, when it was shooting water across the highway reportedly causing vehicles to suddenly brake or swerve.

A van reportedly stripped metal off the Hungry Horse Dam visitor center building.

Feral cats didn’t take too kindly to being trapped and bit someone on Lower Valley Road.

One of four passengers in a truck driving on Montana 35 threw at least two cans out the window.

A very large hound-type dog with several wounds was found by someone who said they were with the dog in West Glacier Village. The dog was evaluated by a vet, who said the lacerations were about a week old and no treatment was needed, so it was taken to the shelter.

A feral cat living at a location on Shady Lane in Evergreen was found with six to seven kittens.

A man was allegedly acting strange “in a remote spot” on KM Ranch Road in Whitefish when he claimed he needed a jump and when someone confronted him about it, he “booked it out of there.”

A pickup truck reportedly pulled up behind a conveyor belt on Woodlands Way in Evergreen and a man and dog got out and hung around for a while, which made someone suspicious.

A large piece of construction equipment that had been sitting on the road for more than a month was suddenly running with the door open but no one was around. Someone on Jacque Fork Drive thought someone was trying to steal it.
