Law Roundup: Pup accused of attempted getaway

A stray dog jumped into the cab of a man’s truck and he didn’t want to attempt to remove it. He said it looked like the dog ripped off its leash.

The Kalispell Police Department received complaints about two or three vehicles in a parking lot playing loud music and two vehicles racing back and forth on Woodland Avenue for 30 minutes and turning around in a church parking lot.

A woman calling from a motel wanted to speak to an officer after she reportedly paid for a man’s meal in Lakeside because he told her and her friend he was with the LAPD. While he was nice to them, she was concerned he might not be who he said he was.

A party pooper lodged a noise complaint about six or seven people sitting out on a deck drinking beer and being loud. Parties were counseled to turn it down.

A woman’s husband heard two scared-sounding screams in the alley behind them. Everything was quiet by the time officers arrived.

A white pickup allegedly drove the wrong way down a one-way street and hit a hotel, damaging it. The driver was taken to the hospital to have his blood drawn and then to jail.

A man initially called police alleging his girlfriend was attacking him and she got on the phone and told dispatchers he was behaving erratically and took off with her keys. Dispatchers heard him in the background yelling, “You’re kicking me.”

Six horses were “freaking out,” according to a caller on Edgewood Drive. The caller told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office the horses might be from a nearby ranch where the gate was open.

Two large plastic barrels fell off a flatbed truck while it was rounding a corner and a clear liquid was spilling out.

Some guys were walking around a new construction area on Swan Mountain Village and a resident thought they were stealing plumbing pipes.
