A Lakers walk away with Harp tourney win
HELENA — The Kalispell A Lakers managed just two hits Friday, but add in 10 walks and they had enough to beat the Billings Cardinals at the John R. Harp tournament, 6-2.
Four walks, an error and a double-play brought home the Lakers’ runs in a 3-run first inning, and Haiden Bunyea’s bases-loaded walk accounted for this team’s only RBI on the day.
A Billings error brought in two more runs in the fourth inning, but the Lakers up 5-1. Kalispell’s sixth run came home via a wild pitch in the fifth.
The Lakers didn’t get a hit until Aiden Wilcox’s double in the sixth; he was caught stealing. Bunyea singled later in the inning for Kalipsell’s other hit.
Laker pitcher Oscar Kallis was sharp, surrendering six hits and two walks in seven innings, with no earned runs. He struck out four.
