Law roundup: Bear breaks into truck near Whitefish Lake
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a black bear inside a truck on the east shore of Whitefish Lake. Montana Highway Patrol’s dispatch was apparently called for the incident. The vehicle owner said he would retrieve his vehicle, and there was no further report.
Four “Nigerian dwarf goats” escaped from a yard and their owner couldn’t find them.
Two ponies also got loose in Kalispell. They were seen grazing in a neighbor’s yard.
A driver on U.S. 2 drew attention because he was using “foul language” and talking about politics.
A vehicle was towed with all of a woman’s belongings inside. She was advised to pay an impound fee to get the car out.

Someone called multiple times about an illicit store that seemed to be operating out of a garage on Reserve Drive.
A puppy was tied up outside a house without food or water, according to a neighbor. The dog apparently chewed through its restraint and ran over to the neighbor’s house.
A man was suspicious of three individuals who walked from a public fishing access spot onto private property. The caller said he “spends a lot of time in the area [and he] hasn’t seen them before [and he] knows they don’t belong on the property.”
A caller was upset because a driver dropped off a passenger, sped off and hit the caller’s trash cans along the way. The caller said they didn’t know who the passenger was. They suspected the man was “homeless.”
